Founded in 2019, the BIMM Student Association serves as our student union, dedicated to creating opportunities for students, organising extracurricular activities, supporting societies, and hosting events.Once you've accessed your student email you will be able to head over to the sharepoint and see how you can get involved with the long list of societies. You'll be given these details in welcome week. Q: What is Enrolment?
A: Enrolment is the process of confirming you as a current student at BIMM. Look out for an email from [email protected] with your online enrolment form. Please make sure you complete this as soon as possible! More information can be found by clicking on THIS LINK

Q: What is Welcome Week?
A: Welcome Week is an in-person event where you will receive your BIMM ID card, information about your course, and get to know your BIMM Bristol peers and course leaders. Our main Welcome Week events will take place on the weeks commencing on the 15th and 22nd of September at BIMM, Moon Street. You will have been contacted directly to be told which days to come on. See you there!

Q: Are there any events during Freshers that I must attend?
A: You will be emailed a schedule from our team that outlines which sessions are mandatory for your course.

Q: Who should I contact if I’m having IT issues?

Q: How do I gain access to the BIMM Bristol building and facilities?
A: During the welcome week events, you will be issued a student key card that will gain you access to the building.

Q: Is there one website I can go to which has all the information I will need throughout my time at BIMM?
A: Our BIMM Bristol central information point is an online platform called SharePoint. You can access SharePoint by going to bimmstudents.com, navigating to the Bristol college, and selecting ‘College Homepage’ from the ‘College & Course Information’ drop-down menu.

Q: How do I have an ID card printed/what should I do if I lose my ID card?
A: You will have your BIMM student ID card printed on the 15th of September, during the induction event that you have been invited to.
If you forget to bring in your student ID card at any time during the academic year, you will need to collect a temporary ID from Info Hub.
If you misplace your student ID card, you must inform Info Hub immediately so they can deactivate it and print you a new one.
Please bear in mind that you must wear your Student ID at all times whilst on campus – this is to keep the BIMM Bristol college safe and secure. You will also be asked to present your student ID card when renting out equipment from Facilities.
----Q: Where can I find accommodation or other students to live in Bristol with?
A: The Freshers Facebook Group is a great starting point - check out your peers' posts for houseshare ads and WhatsApp/Snapchat groups dedicated to finding flatmates.
Other popular places to look include SpareRoom, OpenRent and Rightmove.

Q: How do I get hold of a Student Status/Proof of Study Letter?
_A: To receive a Proof of Study letter, you will need to complete Registration in full. Once you have completed it, you will receive a Proof of Enrolment letter directly to your student email address. This can be used for Council Tax exemption, setting up your student bank account, and any other requests for proof of studentship. Some companies refer to Proof of Studentship as a Student Certificate - this is the same thing.

Q: What resources/provisions do you have in place to support neurodiverse and disabled students?
A: Our Student Wellbeing team is here to make sure that you can access the support you need to complete and get the most out of your studies.
If you have an ongoing support need, you may be eligible for reasonable adjustments on your assessments and studies. Our Support team can work with you on a learning support plan that is tailored to your needs - please email [email protected] to find out more.
Our college is wheelchair accessible via all lifts, and accessible toilets are available on each floor. Students with physical disabilities can use the lift to move between floors in the main building.
----Q: What resources/provisions do you have in place to support LGBTQ+/non-binary students?
_A: At BIMM Bristol, our students have set up the Proud Crowd, which provides a safe space for our LGBTQ+ student community to meet, socialise and share interests.
For students who would like to change their chosen names and/or pronouns during their studies at BIMM, please contact Student Wellbeing, who will be able to guide you through this process.

Q: How do I gain access to my BIMM email account, online learning environment or other online tools?
A: You will be given your IT login details as soon as you are enrolled, and we will take you through our learning platforms (and how to access them) during your Course Information Session/Induction Event.
